AARC currently collects private copying/hometaping royalties for Indies from collectives in Belgium (SIMIM), Finland (GRAMEX), France (SCPP), Italy (ITSRIGHT), Japan (RIAJ), The Netherlands (NVPI), Spain (AGEDI), and Sweden (IFPI).
Pursuant to AARC’s agreement with RIAJ, our Indie participants are entitled to royalties based on their sales of sound recordings in Japan during the royalty year (the years during which the royalties were collected). Data regarding the value of units sold in Japan is sent by AARC to RIAJ based on the information we collect from our Indie participants. Since RIAJ is preparing to distribute 2015/2016 royalties, we are requesting that AARC Indie participants send us their April 2015 through March 2016 Japanese sales data. This data is due to RIAJ by November 21, 2016. We must receive your Japanese sales data by November 18, 2016 (5pm Eastern) so we have enough time to process all the data and send it to RIAJ by its deadline. Please be sure to include only physical sales numbers.
Being registered with AARC is required to receive these royalties. If you are not currently an AARC participant, please register and submit your Japanese sales data by November 18 to qualify for Japanese private copying monies.
This request is for Japanese sales data only. A request for Indie sales in Spain has been requested in the same e-mail that brought you to this page. The next request for foreign sales data will be for Dutch sales next year.
Not a participant? Register with AARC first, and then return to this page to submit data.
Sales data will not be accepted after 11/18.
